Ica is the capital of the Ica region, located in the southwest of Peru, right next to the Ica Desert. Its name comes from “IK,” meaning “river, well, lagoon,” which refers to its geography in a deep valley between two mountain ranges, through which a river flows and is surrounded by lagoons.

The Plaza de Armas of Ica is the central location of the city, featuring different monuments and beautiful fountains that enhance the plaza's atmosphere.
