Transportes Tepsa was a renowned Peruvian company dedicated to interprovincial passenger transportation.
Founded in 1953 by Antonio Ciccia Ciccia under the original name Moderno Express, Tepsa grew to become one of the leading transportation companies in the country, known for its innovation, nationwide and international coverage, and commitment to service quality.

At its peak, Tepsa operated a fleet of over 400 buses, including vehicles from prestigious brands such as Scania, Mercedes-Benz, and Marcopolo. These buses were equipped with advanced technology, including traction control, ABS brakes, and computerized transmission systems, complying with the regulations of Peru’s Ministry of Transport and Communications.

Tepsa offered a variety of onboard services such as Wi-Fi, air conditioning, multimedia entertainment, and personalized attention, catering to the diverse needs of passengers. The company also provided cargo and parcel delivery services, making it a comprehensive solution for both travelers and businesses.

The company connected over 30 destinations across Peru, including major cities like Lima, Arequipa, Cusco, Tacna, Trujillo, and Chiclayo. Moreover, Tepsa extended its operations beyond Peruvian borders, offering international routes to Santiago (Chile), Quito (Ecuador), and Caracas (Venezuela), becoming one of the few land transport companies in Latin America with such a broad reach.

Despite its initial success, Tepsa faced significant challenges in recent years and ultimately ceased operations in February 2021. The closure marked the end of an era in Peruvian interprovincial transportation.
