About Sur Pacifico

Turismo Sur Pacífico is a well-known ground transportation company in Peru, headquartered in the city of Arequipa, that connects various locations in southern Peru. It is a popular choice for traveling along the Interoceanic Highway, other southern routes, and the country’s tourist and commercial destinations, standing out for its comfortable buses and strict safety standards. It offers first-class buses designed to provide a completely relaxing experience on direct trips and strategic connections from its base in Arequipa to destinations such as Puno, Cusco, Tacna, Ica, and Abancay, among others.

The main focus of its operations is the Altiplano region, making the city of Puno its primary destination. Its busiest and most well-known route is the Arequipa–Puno corridor, a journey of approximately 5 to 6 hours that the company covers with multiple departures, facilitating quick travel between the White City and Lake Titicaca. Additionally, the company offers direct connections from Puno to cities such as Cusco, Tacna, and Lima. The company also provides cross-border services, connecting the Peruvian side with Copacabana and La Paz in Bolivia.

Turismo Sur Pacífico has introduced a modern fleet designed for long-distance travel. Its buses are typically configured with two levels to offer different comfort classes. Its premium service, or “Sleeper Bus,” stands out for its seats that recline up to 160 degrees, providing ideal rest during long journeys. Meanwhile, the “Semi-Sleeper” or “Executive” service features seats that recline up to 140 degrees. Both services include climate control (air conditioning/heating), individual monitors or onboard screens in their most modern vehicles, USB ports for charging electronic devices, and a fully functional restroom. In addition, all vehicles are equipped with GPS tracking, speed control, certified drivers, and highly trained staff to provide customer service and assistance throughout the trip.

The company maintains a strict safe boarding policy, conducting all boarding and disembarking exclusively at the official bus terminals in each city (such as the Arequipa Bus Terminal and the Puno Terminal).
