ABOUT Apata

Apata is one of the 34 districts of the Jauja province, in the department of Junín. This town is located in central Peru, about 32 kilometers north of Huancayo, and at an altitude of 3,340 meters above sea level. Its population exceeds 4,000 inhabitants. The name Apata comes from the Quechua language and is linked to agriculture and livestock, activities that have been the economic foundation of the area since ancient times.
